In my role as Assistant Creative Director of Journey Magazine, a student-run publication at FAMU, I had the privilege of spearheading a dynamic collaboration between Journey Magazine and Wakati Hair Care. Women's History Month was celebrated with a digital campaign titled 'Ode to Time,' commemorating the evolution of Black hair throughout the decades, as Wakati means "time" in Swahili.

Throughout this journey, I participated in shaping the creative direction of the campaign. I led brainstorming sessions that fostered a collaborative environment, bringing together models, photographers, and graphic designers to generate compelling ideas that would resonate with our audience. By defining the creative vision, I made strategic artistic decisions that aligned with our objectives, all while adhering to budget and timeline constraints.

Through this collaboration, I learned the power of teamwork and the impact of digital storytelling in celebrating diversity. Working with Wakati was an inspiring experience that reinforced my dedication to inclusive and meaningful projects.

As I reflect on this experience, I am immensely grateful to Wakati Hair Care and Journey Magazine for entrusting me with the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful project. This collaboration not only allowed me to showcase my leadership and creative expertise but also reinforced my commitment to amplifying diverse voices and narratives within the realm of multimedia and storytelling.
